What is the best camera for video beginners? There’s no one right answer to this question. But the video below will help you figure out which direction you should go.

When I was a cute little seven-year-old playing in piano competitions (Kiwanis, anyone?) I won first place fairly frequently.

I loved the drama of the performance. Getting dressed up in fancy clothes. Sweeping up to the front of an audience and plunked myself down, then dramatically slammed away at the keys.

When I won first place in a piano competition for the very first time, I was elated. But I didn’t let it get to my head. I knew that I was only the best out of 17 other kids, most of whom hadn’t practiced very much. I knew I wasn’t the best in the world. It wasn’t like the Olympics or anything. I hadn’t beat out 1200 ridiculously talented kids who had been practicing since they were age 2. I wasn’t the best of the best, that’s for sure.

The world of cameras, especially non-professional consumer-grade cameras, is like a highly competitive children’s piano competition.

There are so many cameras, and they’re all really really good at the basics.

It’s truly like judging 1200 equally talented seven-year-olds and trying to say who performs Bach the best.

It’s basically impossible. This is why buying all three of the cameras I own was difficult. It took a lot of research. And I weighed a lot of options. In this video, I’m going to share with you how to decide what camera to buy so you don’t make the wrong decision for yourself. And so you don’t spend hundreds of hours on YouTube watching videos and researching until you have the dry-eye syndrome. Been there, done that! Don’t want it to happen to you!
